Trinidad Ghost of the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago is paving his own path in the dancehall space with versatility and style. Born Akel Mclean, Trinidad Ghost is a multitalented artist creating music from multiple genres including hip hop, soca, reggae, and dancehall. 

Trinidad Ghost is currently one of the trending Artiste in Trinidad and he could not be more pleased about this achievement. The Trinidad native says his musical journey has been “amazing” since it started in 2014 and where he is now is a blessing. He says the goal is to continue working his way to the top. 

His hit single Zesser has been gaining considerable traction in Trinidad. The track which talks about living a lavish lifestyle now has a remix and a music video featuring other local Trinidadian artistes. The video, which was shot between Brooklyn, New York and Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, showcases the crew dancing in the streets, flashing new jewelry, showing off their rides, and waving the Trinidad and Tobago flag.

The artiste is serious about carving his own path demonstrated by his own description of his music. “My music is more of an old school flavour polished with new school topics and much more controversy, said Trinidad Ghost. The all-rounder takes his musical inspiration from dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel, Super Cat; Soca giants Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin; and rappers Jay Z and Lil Wayne. 

The artiste admits his moniker draws scrutiny but certainly is easily understood based on its origin. “My name is Trinidad Ghost because of my skin complexion and for always disappearing when things get too wild,” he explained.

Trinidad Ghost says for now he will be in the studio working on new releases in various genres including hip hop, soca, R&B, and dancehall.
